Franklin Regional Medical Center Receives National Accreditation

Louisburg, N.C. – Franklin Regional Medical Center has been awarded national laboratory accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP), based on the results of a recent onsite inspection.

This is Franklin Regional’s fifth CAP Accreditation; their first was awarded in March 2002.  The laboratory’s director, Dell A. Dembosky, MD, was advised of this national recognition and congratulated for the excellence of the services being provided.

“It is our honor to serve the people of Franklin County,” said Budd Radovich, laboratory director at Franklin Regional.  “We will continue to work hard to improve the health of our community and every patient who entrusts their care to us.”

During the CAP accreditation process, inspectors examine the medical laboratory’s records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years.  CAP inspectors also examine laboratory staff qualifications, as well as the laboratory’s equipment, facilities, safety program and record, in addition to the overall management of the laboratory.  This stringent inspection program is designed to ensure the highest standard of care for all laboratory patients.
