Our Intensive Care Unit is located on the second floor of the hospital and provides intensive nursing observation and care. We understand your concern for your family member in the ICU. It
will help if you choose a family spokesperson that may call the unit
for information and then share with other family members. Please
encourage well-meaning friends and relatives to contact this person.
We
also use a passcode system to protect the privacy of our patients. This
passcode is given to specific people to allow the staff to comfortably
pass critical, but private patient information. Please pick up the red phone at the entrance to the ICU, before entering the Unit. A staff member will answer the phone. Also,
from the ICU waiting room, please call extension 8404 and check with
the staff prior to entering the Intensive Care Unit. The ICU waiting
area is located on the second floor to the left of the ICU entrance. Visitors are limited to immediate family only and two visitors at a time per patient. No one under 12 is permitted to visit except by special permission. Please do not bring any food or drinks into the patient’s room.
Please remember NO CELL PHONE USE is allowed in the ICU. They can interfere with some of the lifesaving equipment in the area.
The visiting times on this unit are carefully scheduled to coordinate with treatments, rest periods and physician visits.
